Hey there, just joined up as I am trying to decipher what this engine is out of - been using this site for years didn’t realise there was a forum attached to it!
picked up this 327? Yesterday and it seems to be real early girl - is supposed to be a good runner but I am pretty sceptical of that …. Dang the pics are too large to post but the numbers are -

1929 Buick, 1957 Chevrolet
The casting ID you mention is a 62-67 Chevrolet Nova 327. It also has the letters CE which designates that it was a factory replacement engine.

Thanks for the reply mate, it must have been fitted into a heavy vehicle as it had a truck style distributor with the governor according to some of the replies I received from other forums, have since pulled it down and it is an original bore never been apart engine with 2 bolt mains and a steel crank.
