OK gang, new to the forum here and need some help. Bought a set of old SBC heads locally advertised as mid 80's 350 heads. Took them to local machine shop that specializes in heads, owner said he believes they are 2 bbl 307 heads. Contacted guy I bought them from, and he argued me down saying the casting #s come back to a mid 80's 350 and it was "verified by several other people." Casting #s APPEAR to be 14078267, but I cannot find those casting numbers ANYWHERE. Tried to post pics but server said pics are too large.

Scubado, I have to agree agree with the seller that they are indeed mid-80s heads. I can't find the number you gave but my reasoning is you gave 8 digits which indicates mid-80s. If the heads were 70s (like for a 307) the casting numbers would only be 7 digits. I can't say why the numbers are not in my data base.

Well I appreciate the help sir. I'm going to clean those casting #s good, photograph them and the valves and keep trying. One of the main factors for the machine shop was the small valves, intake and exhaust. Just didn't look like 350 heads. I hate to scrap them if someone could take them and use them.
